Letter from the Brentford FC boardroom, 24th April 2006

Dear Supporters,

This week fellow director Ian Jones and I visited the Club and held a workshop with Club staff and BIAS Committee member Trevor Inns. The workshop was aimed at improving the advanced ticket sales process. We identified a number of improvements that could be made; some of these will be actioned relatively quickly whilst others will need Club Board approval. It is my intention to sponsor the proposed changes through to completion. I am expecting to have a much more efficient process for the start of next season.

Whilst on the topic of tickets please don’t forget next Saturday’s game with Hartlepool is all ticket and that the deadline for Early Bird season tickets is prior to kick-off.

Whilst I was at the Club I met with Peter Gilham to discuss the publications and media expenditure and revenue opportunities for the 2006/7 budget. We had a good discussion and are both following up on a number of ideas.

I also met with Stuart Farrar, Alistair Hill and John Anderson to discuss musical entertainment opportunities at Griffin Park. It was an interesting meeting and one we all agreed needed further discussion at the Bees United Board Meeting on 10 May 2006.

The ticket-touting incident before the Blackpool game is in the last stages of investigation. If you are aware of any touting before Saturday’s game against Hartlepool please identify the individual and alert one of the Club stewards.

Finally, this Thursday, 27 April at 7.30pm there is a local council elections hustings at the St Paul’s Centre, St Paul’s Road, Brentford. The event is being jointly organised by BIAS, Brentford Chamber of Commerce and Brentford Community Council. So if you want to find out which of the local candidates will be most supportive in working with the Club in the future, please go along to the meeting.

Let’s work together!

Jon Gosling
