What happened at the Surgery?
On Tuesday, 29 January I held my sixth surgery of the season for supporters in the Bill Axbey Stand, New Road before the game with Notts County. I experimented by holding the surgery closer to kick-off (7.00 - 7.30 pm) and also at half-time. This enabled me to talk to twelve supporters, which is more than I usually see at a surgery. As a result I will continue to with these timings when I am holding a surgery inside the ground. I would like to thank all those that came to meet me. The main topics that they raised were:
- Everyone I spoke to expressed their happiness with the progress the management team and players had made with both performances and results. Supporters were much happier than when I held my last surgery prior to the game with Grimsby Town!
- What is the Club doing about the inconvenience caused to supporters following the late postponement of the game with Accrington Stanley? The Club have informed Accrington of the problems their actions caused our supporters and, as gesture of goodwill, Accrington have announced that they will reduce admission prices for the rearranged game on 26 February. The Club also wrote to the Football League to complain about the late postponement of the game. In response the League have said that very much regret the situation arose and it should have been avoided by Accrington by calling in the match referee overnight.
- I received various complaints about the catering service which I have passed on to the acting CEO David Heath. He has informed me that he is in the process of reviewing the catering service with a view to improving it for all supporters.
My next surgery will be in the Princess Royal before the home game with Accrington Stanley on 16 February between 1.15 - 2.15 pm.
